I love these boots. I have to wear them on the outside of my jeans but the zipper on the side makes it very easy to get my pants legs straight. They are so warm and toasty no matter how cold it is. These are very good quality. They are very well made and look it. I wore these boots in the snow in New York and they were so warm and I did not slip or slide on ice. The soles grip really well. They look great on. Kind of a pirate look. I would recommend these boots to anyone. I love these boots.

Love these boots
These boots are great. They are well made and fit true to size. I am a 7 to 7-1/2 and I ordered the 7. They are perfect. The lining is nice and warm and the boot is comfortable to wear. I am not twiggy in the legs but have calves and these fit just fine so do not be afraid of that issue. I really like these boots and am happy with the price, value and quality of the product. I would definitely order these again. Oh, and they look much more feminine in person than in the picture.

Really comfy, warm and dry
1. I wear an 8.5 normally, purchased these in an 8. I have a wide foot and these allow plenty of room for a heavy sock.

2. Easy to get on right away- I didn't have to fight with them at all. The toggle-lace system works easily and the weather-proof inset sides expand to allow for most calf widths!

3. Went out in over a foot of snow for a hike- feet stayed dry and warm, and the tread really is a big help. The boots were comfortable and felt no heavier than a pair of regular shoes.

4. They also come off easily-no fighting with wet boots!

practical AND fashionable
Great boots! Super warm, good traction could be better, jeans fit inside or over the top. A little larger than typical size 8, heel slips a bit. Best part is that they fit over my large, athletic calves that never fit into boots! The "laces" work really well. Great for walking the dog on snowy sidewalks and rugged trails.

Better than I expected
I love these boots, they are very warm, comfortable and true to size. We don't normally have much snow where I live but this has been an unusual year weather wise and I am very glad I purchased my boots, have worn them alot more than I thought I would. They look good with jeans and I have gotten many compliments, they keep my feet toasty and dry and that means alot as I typically have cold feet.

Snow boots
I bought these boots in summer time, so I did not have a chance to wear them in the snow, but I know the boots will be wonderful for my winter walks with my dog in the snow, because they feel very comfortable to wear.Normally my shoes size is 8, so I bought these boots in size 9 and it is perfect with long cotton socks.I don't need to wear too thick and warm socks, because the boots have very good insulation which feels warm, soft and comfortable.Also I like the fur on the boots because according my experience it prevents the snow to get inside the boots.

These boots were a great size, not super bulky and seem very warm. They seem like they will not only be great winter boots, but they don't look super dorky either. The tread is good and the insides are very comfortable!

Great snow boots!!
Bought these boots for warmth and to cope with the huge dumps of snow we had in Queenstown this season. They are spot on and easy to get on and off too. Wanted a boot that did not slip on the ice but I think the only way to go is crampons.

Very very warm snowboot!
I'm soooooo glad I bought these boots now that we've been pummeled by 21 inches of wet heavy snow. These boots are perfect for heavy snow in subzero temps. Just a warning though, these boots look BIG! Understandably so because they're rated for -148. I'm not sure how many people in the world are elite enough to ever test this assertion, but they will likely work for whatever cold temperatures I'll ever experience. If you're into the new Ugg boot look, then they won't look comparatively that big but they are warm because they have a 1" foam liner inside them. They look a lot like snowboarding boots when you put them on. The liner makes it hard to tuck any normal pant cuffs inside them but if you're wearing long underwear with skipants then this works or you can roll your cuffs up and tuck them inside the cinch sleeve at the top. I wear a 7.5 street shoe and ordered a size 8 which fits perfectly. I am 5'4" and the boot comes up about mid-calf and it's about 14-15" tall from the ground. The shoe part of it is 12" measuring from the heel to the toe.

Baffin Impact Boots
Wow, these boots are extremely warm! I am from Arizona, so my body does not handle below freezing weather well. But these boots do the trick! The only downfall is that the boots are pretty big and bulky, but they do fit under my snow pants very nicely. They aren't as easy to hike around in than smaller/lighter shoes, but you'll get used to them. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend these boots to any person who hates the cold as much as I do!

Fantastic Boots!
I am a horsewoman and having tried many different boots for horse and ranch work, the Baffin boots rank in the top "All Round Best Boots." They are extremely comfortable, your feet don't tire after a day on the dirt, good heel for riding too, easy to get on and off, easy to clean, cool styling too...

Althought the description states they are "winter boots" with thin socks they are not too warm even in warmer weather. Once I tried the black ones, I quickly ordered them in brown, then they went on super sale so I got a back-up black pair as well...these boots will be there for my lifetime with horses.

great warm boot for even the coldest of toes/days
I have always suffered from cold feet and needed a waterproof, very warm, practical boot for walking my dogs in Midwest winter weather. These have been great for trudging through snow and slush on trails. I am a 6.5 to 7 and the 7 fit me fine. I agree with the previous review that they are a little wide at the ankle and shaft but by doing them up as tight as possible I can walk comfortably in them for 2 hours (I haven't tried any longer than this but I don't anticipate any problems). The foam inside really cradles the foot and the shaft is also soft and flexible. I have not had any blisters or problems. These really keep your feet warm, sometimes my feet even feel a little too warm! Just for that they are worth it!

Snow boots for plein air painters
I got this boot to paint outside (pictures, not buildings) in the winter, which means standing still in the snow. As it turned out, the air temp was 10 degrees below zero. My face and fingers suffered, but my feet were warm, and these boots are not as huge as, say, the Cabela Trans-Alaska, so I could climb up and down stairs without turning my feet sideways.

Super winter boot
Very convenient boots, in -30' I have not frozen. In the winter in Russia to me in them it is warm and comfortable.

works in Chicago
Was in Chicago visiting my daughter just before winter this year hit. She was showing off some Northface boots she bought that "looked great" but I could see were not built to withstand "real walkiing through the Chicago snowfalls" that I am used to. Don't get me wrong, Northface DOES make some excellent coldweather gear but the boot's she had were more of a "look at me" style and not for real snow use. Anyway, I ordered these Baffins after some research and when she got them she was really excited. They felt better constucted as soon as she pulled them out of the box.
Since then there have been a few snowfalls where she has walked to the metra trains 6 blocks in the snow and she will only wear these for that walk now. The Northface she bought are just for show.
By the way, these Baffins were $60 cheaper than the Northface. Great value and with removable inserts to swap out when worn or just need to dry out because of persperation.

Baffin Women's Boots
My daughter is a student away at Michigan State and does alot of walking to and from class. I had purchased a pair of Baffin boots for myself a few years ago and really liked them. I told her these were the last pair of boots I would buy her since her feet are finally done growing. We ordered them online and received them a week later. She loves them! They are true to size and pretty attractive as winter boots go. They are very warm, waterproof, and very comfortable for walking on campus in the snow. Would recommend these to anyone looking for a great pair of winter boots. I am sure these will last her a long time.

Great cold weather boot.
Light and warm, this boot is a must have if you want to be out and about during winter's coldest days. The inner lining may feel snug at first, but conforms quickly to your foot. Wish I'd had these last winter.

warm and rugged!
They fit true to size! They look great too! I'll be able to walk the snow filled peaks here in washington with my dog! Not to mention all the trails in my area that are sometimes pretty muddy.

Cute and Warm and Comfortable !!! For pants or Dresses and not tight over calf.
We were looking for something warm, comfortable and not too unfeminine for walking on a Utah college campus. We ordered several boots and this was the winner by far. This review was written after trying on 6 styles of different brands, and walking around the house. But as it's boot buying time and there was no review - here is mine.

The only thing we gave up in this style was not having rubber around the sides of the foot, but at least it's not suede and it can be retreated with water protection over time.

Quality: Well, it' a Baffin, so we assume it is well made but won't know till snow and temps fall.

Cold Rating: Many Baffins are rated for -40 F degrees or lower. This one is only rated for -4 F. But it is lined from toe to top with a dense thin insulation. It does not have a separate inner liner. But since it comes up to the bottom of the knee in front I believe that extra coverage will help by protecting the leg more and holding more heat.

Comfort: This boot fits a woman's foot very well, no big clunky feet. And we tried it with thick sock and it was still comfortable so there is plenty of room. You can move your foot as the bed is flexible and you can move your ankle, although it still seems a tad stiff in the front of the ankle, I expect that will loosen up with wear. The boot is not too heavy and I don't see it making a campus walk seem long. The long side zipper makes it a very easy boot to put on. Those laces are completely decorative and won't change a thing.

Looks: Well, we were VERY pleasantly surprised at how cute this looks on. Even for thick calves the cut of this is very flattering. It fits nicely around the ankle. The elastic on the back side top, is nice and comfortable and the top was still loose - but doesn't look like it. It looks so cute, we decided not to hide it behind pants and fortunately the top is wide enough that there is plenty of space to tuck pants in. It also looks super trendy under a skirt. The toe box is roomy but looks petite and feminine.

We compared this model to the Judy, Iceland & Kona by Baffin which are rated -40F, but since this LOOKED and FELT so much nicer, we are keeping this pair.

Traction: The traction on the bottom of this boot is plenty good and although different, should be as good as the other boots.

We bought a pair of Santana boots for fall for cute boots - but I can easily see these being worn in the fall too since they don't even look like a winter boot. We also bought and kept the tall Fit Flop boot.

great looking and comfortable!
the boots arrived a day before expected and so far seem very comfortable. I was a little concerned that they would be too tall for my not so tall frame, but they are fine. I haven't had a chance to test them in very cold weather, but they feel great and look great! I will have a chance to test them in Park City Utah in January and if they feel warm there, I will give them five stars.
